Neon Dreams: How Sci-Fi and Tron Shape My Art
Share
If you haven't guessed it by now, I am a geek to the nth degree. My husband and I live for science fiction: the world-building, the technology, and especially the visuals. There is one specific movie that left a permanent mark on my creative soul: Tron.
I still remember the excitement of waiting for the Tron: Legacy opening weekend. I even had a custom glow-in-the-dark hoodie to mark the occasion! While most people were focused on the story, I was mesmerized by the grids, the light cycles, and that unmistakable neon-on-black color palette.
The Power of the Glow
That neon aesthetic deeply influenced the way I use color today. If you look at my stickers or digital paintings, you will often see vibrant, high-contrast colors and a specific "glow" effect. I love the way a bright line can pop against a darker background, creating a sense of energy and magic.
My art is where my love for sci-fi meets my passion for cute animals. Whether it is a capybara in a futuristic setting or a cat with a neon halo, that "geeky" influence is always there. It turns out that those hours spent watching sci-fi movies were actually just research for my future art business!
What is your favorite sci-fi movie or book? Are you a fan of the "classic" space operas, or do you prefer the sleek, neon world of cyberpunk? I would love to chat about your favorites!
